Helping our Community

Bread of Life Ministry

St. Anne’s Parish is a part of the Scottsville Bread of Life Ministry that was formed in 1995 by a group of dedicated volunteers from the local churches in Scottsville. This community ministry works together to bring food and other supplies to those in need.  Each of the contributing churches (St. Anne’s Episcopal Parish, Scottsville United Methodist, Scottsville Baptist, Scottsville Presbyterian and St. George’s Catholic Church), take a turn at leading this group effort. (St. Anne’s months are May, September and January.) If you would like to be part of this ministry, come to the Scottsville Community Center (rear entrance) the third Friday of the month at 2:00 p.m. to help pack up the food, and the third Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. to pass out the food. Meet at the Scottsville Community Center, rear entrance. For more information, please contact the parish office at 286-3437. You can also help the Bread of Life Ministry by sending a donation to:  St. Anne's Parish, P.O. Box 337, Scottsville, VA  24590, (note Bread of Life in the memo line).

Mobile Food Pantry

St. Anne’s Parish also supports the Mobile Food Pantry which is a joint effort of the Blue Ridge Food Bank and the Bread of Life Ministry. The Mobile Food Pantry needs volunteers on the fourth Tuesday of each month to help pack and distribute food.  Meet at the Scottsville Farmer's Market Pavilion. Start times are 9:00 a.m. if you are helping with carts and sign-in or 9:30 a.m. if you are helping with food packing and distribution.
